Safeguarding Policy

Legislation makes it the responsibility of all agencies to work together to safeguard children. It is only if we all accept our responsibilities for safeguarding children and regard their welfare as paramount, that we will be able to avoid such cases from ever happening in the future.

St. John Vianney Catholic Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of all children and rigorous child protection procedures are in place to which all staff must adhere, including DBS enhanced disclosure.

Parents and Carers must be aware that this school has a statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. In cases where school staff are concerned about a pupil, staff will follow the Child Protection Procedures and inform Children’s Services of their concern. This may involve further enquiries being made by Social Workers, including a home visit.
