Admission to Early Years 2022-23
For applications for 2024-2025 onwards - If you feel that there are exceptional medical, social or pastoral reasons associated with your child and/or family which support admission to a particular school you must indicate that this is the case on your admission application. The academic year is fixed from 1st September each year to 31st August of the following year. A child can begin school the academic year after his/her 4th birthday and provision for learning and care before this time is non-statutory.
Children are welcomed into the Early Years (daycare and funded nursery) by order of application for provision on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Such provision is offered flexibly and, as far as is practicable, we accommodate parents’ wishes.
The provision available is in cohortual year groups similar to school:
- Puddle Room: birthdate from 1st September 2022 to 31st August 2023 until confidently toddling
- Rock Pool Room: birthdate from 1st September 2020 to 31st August 2022 and once confidently toddling
- Bay Room: birthdate from 1st September 2019 to 31st August 2020
- Sea Room: birthdate from 1st September 2018 to 31st August 2019
Upon application, the terms of each academic year required for the child in each room are allocated and reserved. This enables parents to be immediately informed as to whether their requested provision will be available. If only part of their requested provision is available, then parents make the decision as to whether to reserve the place or seek an alternative setting, in whole or in part.
Please notice that application and admission to any early learning and care provision including nursery is not related to application to school. No preference is given to children attending early learning and care provision including nursery.
